Campbell’s Scotch Ale from Belgium
スコッチエールとあって、なぜベルギー？と思われる方が多いと思います。過去の2回の世界大戦でイギリス軍がベルギーに駐留していた時の置き土産です。イギリスのライセンスの下、ベルギーで作られており、その一部にはイギリスにちなんだ名前がつけられています。
I suppose why it is Belgian beer in spite of "Scotch Ale". It is because of a parting gift when British armies were stationed in Belgium when it was WW I and WW II. British Ale such as Stout, Scotch Ale and English Ale are brewed in Belgium based on the license of British breweries and some of them are named the brand name connected to Britain.

とてもレアなビールと思います。試飲当時のビールラベルにはwebsiteの表示なく、醸造所名も不明（というか読めない）。
このブログアップの際に検索したがまともに出てこない・・・。
当時のコメントは濁った茶色ビールで泡がほとんどないとあります。中世のビールそのままという感じです。

イチゴのビールです。ランビックでもクリークでも、グーズでもないです。ウェピオンはナミュールから8km南に下ったところにある、150年も前からイチゴが栽培されているベルギーで有数のイチゴの産地です。そこにある醸造所の地ビールです。コメントにあるように、強烈なイチゴの香りが印象的です。
Situated 8 km south from Namur, along the Meuse, Wépion is the Belgian capital of strawberry. People have been cultivating strawberries for more than 150 years. There is indeed in Wépion a microclimate, plantations exposed to the sun on the west slope, and a schistose soil which is favourable for this farming.

それもそのはず、ベルギーで最大手の苗生産会社が自家用に醸造したもので、非売品です。
気になるそのお味の方は、甘みがまだ強く、おそらく、瓶内発酵するタイプと思います。できれば、複数貰って1年ごとに味を試したかったですが、頂いたのは貴重な1本のみでした。
It is the memorial beer for me as I got it from my Dutch colleague when I come by The NL before going back to Japan.
It is an article not for sale because the biggest plug raiser in Belgium brews for private use as hobby.

それもそのはず、このUitzetとは、火事の時に消火よりもまず先にビールを担ぎ出しなさいという昔話にちなんだ名前です。
これは日本では入手できないでしょうね。:-)
