La Blanche from France

白ビールですが、特有のバナナ香がなく、慣れない人には飲みやすいと思います。私はバナナ香ぷんぷんの方が好きですが・・・。
これでフランスビールは終わります。
次回（10月）から、オクトーバーフェスタ真っ只中のドイツです。
ボリュームあるので、いつ終わる事やら・・・。

このビールは販売ルートによってブランド名が異なるもので、日本ではBreizh Blondeですが、別名Diwall Blondeと言って、こちらの方がメジャーのようです。ともあれ、この醸造元のWarenghemはウイスキーも扱っており、このビールもウイスキーとのカクテルです。

白イタチと名付けられたこのビールはホワイトビールの部類で、ホップの他にコリアンダーで香りづけした酸味のあるビールです。日本でも時折目にすることができるビールです。

フランスはやはりワインの国なのか、ビールに対してやや見方が違うようです。純粋なビールよりは、何かとのカクテルの様なものが多く見られます。このAdelscottも、ウィスキーとのカクテルビールです。

 Talking of France, on second thoughts, it is Wine, therefore pure beer may not be so popular, rather cocktail beer with mixed with something may be more popular. Adescott is a cocktail with beer and whiskey.

第1回日本ビール検定（愛称　びあけん）

本日（9/23）受けてきました（2級）。
東京会場は世田谷区の某大学で、少なくとも2,000名以上の方が受けていたと思います。
他に大阪会場、札幌会場がありますので、協会推定の5,000名受験はあながち嘘ではないと思います。
受験料5,000円、公式テキスト代1,500円（ほとんどの方が購入したと思います。）とすると、この検定で少なくとも約3300万円のカネが動いたことになります。
満点取得者にはビール1年分プレゼントとありますが、予想通り、満点取らせるものかと奇問が散見されました。
1年分と言っても、休肝日は２日/週取ろうとテキストに書いてあったので、5本/週×52週で、260本分程度と思われます。仮に受験者の5％が満点取ったとしても、ほとんど親の総取りですね。
5,000円の投資でビール1年分ゲットと張り切りましたが、世の中そうは甘くないです。
でも、このおかげで、この１ヶ月、”まじめに”ビールの勉強をし、いかに今まで、このブログを適当に書いていたかを思い知りました。

結果発表は10月下旬です。

クレスパン修道院のレシピを忠実に再現したホワイトビールスタイルのアビイ（修道院）ビールです。修道院ビールにホワイトビールなんかあったのか疑問ですが。アマデウス（神が愛した）とはたいした自信です。

同じ醸造所の看板ビールです。厳選された3種の麦芽とフランダース産のホップを使用した上面発酵のビール。コメントにあるようにフルーティーな香りで、まさに上面発酵ビールそのものです。

Belzebuth from France

4代に渡って経営されるフランス北部（ベルギー国境近く）のリールで家族経営で営まれる醸造所です。このBelzebuth（ベルヅェビュット）は上面発酵の自称アルコール最高度数のビールと謳っています（実は違いますが）。だから、ラベルに悪魔なのでしょうか？高アルコールの割には飲みやすいビールと当時の私が記録しています。

 Grain d'Orge is a traditional and family brewery since four generations in Lille. The beer, According to the brewery, Belzebuth is described the highest alcohol beer in the world.

ホワイトビールの部類に入るColombaは大麦と小麦から醸造され、コルシカ島に自生する低木（マキ―）の葉を香りづけに使ったビールです。木イチゴやテンニンカ、セイヨウバクシンの微妙なブレンドがかすかに残る何とも言えない味のビールです。

 It's a white beer brewed from barley and wheat and flavoured with herbs from the Corsican maquis. Adelicate blend of tree strawberry, myrtle and juniper is prepared in a large tea-ball and left to infuse in the kettle while cooking the wort.

Jenlain Abbrée from France

かつて、木製樽で業務用向けに販売されていたこのビールは、第二次世界大戦後から主流となった小売用ボトル仕様のトレンドに対応すべく、空のシャンパンボトルにビールを詰めて、コルク栓＋ワイヤーキャップされたスタイルで初めて流通させた、いかにもフランスらしいビールです。今では、画像のように普通の王冠になっていますが・・・。

 Previously sold for menu years in wooden barrels to taverns, village fairs and the local farms, beer started appearing in large spring-fastened bottles from the end of WW II. To keep up with this new trend of drinking beer at home, the Duycks had the idea of using empty champagne bottles to create their own style of beer bottle and thus Jenlain was the first beer to be bottled in a 75cc champagne bottle with a wire-fastened cork.

George Killian’s from France

1864年に設立されたアイルランドのビールブランドであったGeorge Killianですが、1956年に閉鎖とともに、フランスのPelforth Breweryが取得し、現在に至ります。さらにアメリカのCoorsがアメリカでのブランド使用権を得て、George Killian's Irish Redとして流通しています。

 George Killian's Irish Red is amber lager brewed by Coors and widely distributed in USA. The brand name was purchased from the Pelforth Brewery in France, who had previously bought it from Lett's Brewery in Ireland, which had closed in 1956.

特徴あるビールを造られています。ラベルも印象的で特におじさんが人魚の様なやつはベンチマーク的なものです。
ラベルが非常に剥がしにくく、当時まだ8歳だった娘が難儀していたのを記憶します。
