High Water Hopriot IPA from USA

同じく、世界のビール博物館で2杯目に頼んだのがこれ、ハイウォーター　ホップライオットIPAですが、衝撃でした。IPAとあるのでやたら苦いイメージを持っていましたが、なんてフルーティーな香り。マスカットのようなブドウの香り（多分、アメリカンホップと思います）がすばらしく、苦みもちょうどよく、こんなIPAがあったのか！圧倒的なアメリカンホップ感と調和のとれた麦芽の風味のバランスが最高。
高校時代の恩師がアメリカのIPAにはまっていると言っていたのを思い出しましたが、至極納得。これはまた飲みたい！そして今まで軽視していたアメリカビールを見直したビールです。

Actually, I was impressed by the beer. Although I supposed bitter taste beer because of I.P.A., on the contrary, very fruity flavour like muscat grapes from American hops with good balanced malt and bitter. I intend to try American beer more from now on!

Lion à Plume Carioca & Lion à Plume Metise from Belgium

春です。桜が咲き始め、横浜赤レンガ倉庫でフラワーガーデン2014が開催されたので行って来たついでに、世界のビール博物館へ。春なのでホワイトアスパラガスがお勧めメニューにあり、それにあわせて頼んだホワイトビールがこれ、リオン・ア・プリュム　カリオカ（画像左）とメティッシュ（画像右）です。
プリュムは大麦麦芽、小麦、小麦麦芽を使用し、香りづけに定番のコリアンダーを使用せずアメリカンホップでマスカットのようなさわやかな香りに仕上げています。
メティッシュはミックスの意。アメリカ産とイギリス産のホップを使用していることから。元々農家で造られていたスタイルの爽やかな酸味があるビールです。

Wee Heavy Scotch Ale from USA

ビールのロールスロイスと例えられるウィーヘビースコッチエールは濃いマホガニー色で、リッチな味わいにキャラメルを思わせる甘み。冷やさずに10～12℃でゴブレットに注いでゆっくりいただきたいビールです。ボトルの裏面を見ますと、ローストした、またはグリルした肉、サラダ、チーズ（特にブルーチーズやナッツ入り）と非常に相性がいいとあります。こだわりのビールほど、このように特徴を最高に引き出すべく、飲み方の提案が記述されています。

This Scottish-inspired deep mahogany coloured ale showcases a rich, malty flavour profile of caramel and toffee offset by hints of roast and subtle smoke. The complex malty sweetness includes notes of dark fruit balanced by a subdued hop bitterness. Wee Heavy is incredible nuanced and in a class of its own in terms of balance and sophistication. It ages very well and will keep improving for years to come. Wee Heavy's complex malt profile lends itself very well to a host of roasted or grilled meat and vegetable dishes. Robust cheese, salty blues, and nutty farmhouse style cheeses also pair very well with this beer. Serve in a goblet at 10-12C.
