Hertog Jan Pilsener from The Netherlands

このビールの名前を冠しているヘルトフ・ヤンとは、かつてブラバント地方一帯を治めていたブラバント公ヤン1世を指していると言われ、ビールの王様と称されるガンブリヌスの名で親しまれていました。
ちなみに、ビールの王様であるガンブリヌス（ヤン・プリムスとも呼ばれましたが）は各国のビールの名前にもなっています。
これまでも、ルクセンブルク、ベルギー、デンマーク、チェコでご紹介してきました。（下記サイトご参照）
ガンブリヌスと言えば、ビールの王様。ビール樽にどっとまたがり、右手にホップの枝、左手にビールの杯を持ったあごひげの老人で、中世ドイツやフランダースの人々は、限りない尊敬と感謝の念を抱いていました。
一説によると、この人物が乾杯の習慣を広めたとも言われています。

Hertog Jan was called Gambrinus which is "King of Beer". Talking of Gambrinus, the name is used for several beer brand in European countries such as Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic etc. described as above blog addresses.
Accordiing to one theory, Gambrinus prevailed the custom of "cheers".

Craft Beer Kitchen again!

また、お邪魔しましたCraft Beer Kitchenさんです。

前回は予約満席の中、5/5にお邪魔しましたが、今回は当日予約でなんとかカウンター席キープ！
ビールに造詣ある店長の面白いお話を聞きながらのビールはよかったです。
この店長、多忙でなかなかクラフトビール巡りができないと言いつつ、絶対にその現場に行かないと知ることができない情報をさらりと話すところが秀逸です。
また、樽が入れ替わったら、行こうかな。
