Hertog Jan Pilsener from The Netherlands
このビールの名前を冠しているヘルトフ・ヤンとは、かつてブラバント地方一帯を治めていたブラバント公ヤン1世を指していると言われ、ビールの王様と称されるガンブリヌスの名で親しまれていました。ちなみに、ビールの王様であるガンブリヌス（ヤン・プリムスとも呼ばれましたが）は各国のビールの名前にもなっています。
これまでも、ルクセンブルク、ベルギー、デンマーク、チェコでご紹介してきました。（下記サイトご参照）
ガンブリヌスと言えば、ビールの王様。ビール樽にどっとまたがり、右手にホップの枝、左手にビールの杯を持ったあごひげの老人で、中世ドイツやフランダースの人々は、限りない尊敬と感謝の念を抱いていました。
一説によると、この人物が乾杯の習慣を広めたとも言われています。

Hertog Jan was called Gambrinus which is "King of Beer". Talking of Gambrinus, the name is used for several beer brand in European countries such as Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic etc. described as above blog addresses.
Accordiing to one theory, Gambrinus prevailed the custom of "cheers".

ドイツ国境に近いオランダはアルセンの地ビールです。1758年創立で頑なに独立を維持してきましたが、1995年にベルギー大手の傘下に入ってしまいました。このJannekeはイギリスのペールエールとアビイビールの合いの子のようなビールです。何よりもこのビールの王冠のすばらしさは、これまで息子が集めた王冠の中でも1位、2位を争うくらいの美しさです。
The brewery, De Arcense Bierbrouwerij was a sturdy independent that became part of Interbrew in 1995. Janneke is interpretation of an English pale ale and Abbey style beer.
What is more, please see the design of crown! I think it is the best one of my son's crown collection.

サントリーのクラフトセレクション（www.suntory.co.jp/beer/craftselect/）の第２弾です。7月はスペシャルビターとメルツェンです。日本人の嗜好にあわせた感のあるマイルドな仕上がりですが、スペシャルビターは後味まで苦みしっかりしています。
次回はパンプキンとのこと。楽しみです。

golden coloured beer. Not only bitter taste but a
little bit sweet flavour probably due to malt. But actually
bitter finish! It is craft beer by Suntory and limited brewing as vol.3.
