Chimay from Belgium

世界で一番販売されている修道院ビールが、このChimayです。

修道僧は醸造に勤しんでいますが、修道院から数マイル離れた場所にいる”世俗的な”人々が世界中に売り込んでいます。1200万L/年醸造されているそうです。

Chimayには3種類あり、それぞれ赤、青、白と呼ばれて、ボトルのラベルもそれに準じています。

Chimay may be the most well-known trappist beer in the world. The monks are in charge of brewing, but a few miles from their abbey in a complex of utilitarian buildings a large secular staff skilfully markets their beers.
