Bavaria from The Netherlands

ババリアという名前ですがオランダのビールです。ドイツ風のビールという意味で名づけられたそうですが、なんともざっくりした命名です。でもオランダではハイネケンに次ぐNo.2のシェアを持つブランドです。
3つ目にあるモルトは当初、麦芽100％ビールと思って買ったのですが、向こうではノンアルコールビールをモルトって書くんですね。このビールで初めて知りました。

Although the name is Bavaria, it is Dutch brand beer. It was named from "German type beer" but from my point of view, there are many kinds of German beer. What is German type??? Anyway, it is second biggest beer brand in The Netherlands.

ガツンとくる飲み応えとコクとあるので、（でも日本の大手が造るビールだから、無難に、あまりとんがったものではないだろうなと思いつつ）期待したIPAでしたが、予想通りでした。日本でラガーに慣れ親しんだビール党には驚きかも知れませんが・・・。でも合格点と思います。アンバーエールもしかり・・・。

According to Suntory, the IPA kicks ass, however for me not so. Probably it is for common Japanese. But basically not so bad and nice IPA as majour brewery produced.

かつてのオランダのアルコールといえば、ジンが主体でしたが、堕落とアル中で創業者のヘラルド・アドリアーン・ハイネケンは当時のオランダの様子にぞっとしたそうです。そして母にこう言ったそうです「もし醸造所をあつらえてくれたら、私は彼らのために健康的なビールを造りたい」。これがハイネケンの始まりです。

ところで、2つ目に掲載された画像はアムステルダムにあるハイネケンミュージアムで入場したらお土産でもらえた（10年前）ものですが、今はそのサービスは無くなりました。よく考えてみたら、10年前はミュージアム大改装中で見られるところが少なかったからかな？
日本に帰国する日にゲットした欧州駐在で最後のビールです。

Gerard Adriaan Heineken was so appalled by the depravity and drunkenness caused by Gin drinking that he told his mother he would brew healthy beer for the people if she bought the Haystack (De Hooiberg) Brewery for him.

By the way, the second image of beer was the one I got when I came by Heineken Museum just before flight back to Japan. It is the last beer I got in my European life.

Amstel from The Netherlands

自分が住んでいたアムステルフェーン地元のビール、アムステルです。大手ハイネケンの傘下ですが、ブランドはそのまま残って、当時より地元界隈ではハイネケンより多く看板を見かけました。近くを流れるアムステル川にちなんでのブランドですが、醸造用の水もこの川の上流より引いています。
ボックは秋口に出回る定番のボックビール（季節のビール）、ゴールドは地元では一番人気のアルコールやや高めのビール。

Amstel beer from my neighbor I lived in The Netherlands. It is under the Umbrella of Heinelen but the brand name is continued. The name from Amstel river and the water for brewing is also from the upper stream of Amstel river.

今はラ・トラッペのホワイトビール（http://beer-a-holic.blogspot.jp/2015/06/la-trappe-witte-trappist-la-trappe.html）として流通していますが、このビールを渡来した（2004～2005年ごろ）はこんなラベルで、いかにも修道院ビール（トラピストビール）というラベルでいい味出していました。
