Heineken from The Netherlands

かつてのオランダのアルコールといえば、ジンが主体でしたが、堕落とアル中で創業者のヘラルド・アドリアーン・ハイネケンは当時のオランダの様子にぞっとしたそうです。そして母にこう言ったそうです「もし醸造所をあつらえてくれたら、私は彼らのために健康的なビールを造りたい」。これがハイネケンの始まりです。

ところで、2つ目に掲載された画像はアムステルダムにあるハイネケンミュージアムで入場したらお土産でもらえた（10年前）ものですが、今はそのサービスは無くなりました。よく考えてみたら、10年前はミュージアム大改装中で見られるところが少なかったからかな？
日本に帰国する日にゲットした欧州駐在で最後のビールです。

Gerard Adriaan Heineken was so appalled by the depravity and drunkenness caused by Gin drinking that he told his mother he would brew healthy beer for the people if she bought the Haystack (De Hooiberg) Brewery for him.

By the way, the second image of beer was the one I got when I came by Heineken Museum just before flight back to Japan. It is the last beer I got in my European life.
