Beck’s from Germany

ドイツ北部のブレーメンのビールです。ブレーメンはドイツで初めて醸造業者のギルドが組織された（1489年）ところで有名です。このベックスは約90か国に輸出販売されているドイツでも有名なビールで、2002年2月まで個人経営でしたが、今は最大手Interbrew社の傘下です。

Beck's Brewery, also known as Brauerei Beck & Co., is a German brewery in Bremen and is the world's best selling German beer and sold in nearly 90 countries. Owned by local families until february 2002, it was then sold to Interbrew. The brewery was formed under the name Kaiserbrauerei Becj & May o. H.G. in 1874 by Lueder Rutenberg, Heinrich Beck and Thomas May. Thomas May left the brewery which became known as Kaiserbrauerei Beck & Co. in 1875.

DAB Original from Germany

ドルトムント地方で造られる淡色ビールを総称してドルトムンダーといいますが、輸出ビールとしても活躍したので、エキスポートビールとも呼ばれます。ミュンヘンタイプの淡色ビール（へレス）よりドライで、ピルスナータイプほどホップの苦みがないです。DABはそのドルトムンダーの代表格です。

A Dortmunder Export is drier than a Munich Helles, but less hoppy and bitter than a Northern Pilsner. It is burnished gold in colour and is not fully attenuated.

直訳すると”大麻の力”ビールです（ウコンじゃないんだから・・・）。有機栽培の大麻を副原料にしたドイツ原産ビール。THC（テトラヒドロカンビノール）含有量は0.2％以下ですので、お咎めなしなんでしょうが・・・。アルコール度数が8%と高めですので、飲みすぎるとこちらでハイになるかもしれませんね。

EKU 28 from Germany

ドイツ国内ではEKU 28ではなく、Kulminator 28と表記されています。ドイツビール愛好家にとって、EKUとは一種の畏敬の念を抱いて話されるようです。EKUはErste　Kulmbach Unionbrauereiの略で、（アルコール度数の高いボックビールといえばフランコニア地方の町である）クルムバッハで一番の（この醸造所を作った、元は二つだった）結合した醸造所といった意味です。そのEKUの中でもEKU 28は最も有名なビールで、クルミナトール・ウルタイプ・ヘル（＝クルムバッハのオリジナル淡色ビール）という言い表し方もされます。ヘル（＝ドイツ語で淡い）とありますが、淡色ビールではなく、琥珀色のビールです。

The most famous Double Bock beers to drinkers outside Germany come from the EKU Brewery in Kulmbach. The letters stand for Erste Kulmbach Unionbrauerei: Erste means First and Union indicates a merger of two former breweries in 1872. EKU 28 is the most famous beer of the brewery and it is called as Kulminator Urtype Helles. Although it is described "Helles", it is not pale type but further deeper colour such as Amber colour type beer.

Erdinger Weißbier from Germany

最も歴史ある白ビールがシュナイダーなら、最も販売量が大きい白ビール会社がここ、エルディンガーです。3万キロリットル/年生産のシュナイダーに対し、20万キロリットル/年です。ところで、ドイツではWeissebierやWeißbierを白ビール（White beer）、Weizenbier小麦ビール（Wheat beer）と表記ありますが、ともに小麦を材料にした上面発酵のビールを指します。

Talking of the oldest white beer in Germany, it is Schneider, while talking of the biggest white beer in Germany, it is Erdinger. Erdinger White beer is brewed and produced 200 hectolitres per year compare with Schneider, 30 hectolitres.

Schneider Weisse Original from Germany

白ビールの元祖を自負するビールです。白ビールの泰斗で、このビールのレシピを作ったゲオルグ・シュナイダー1世は白ビール評論家から崇められるほどです。200年ほど前まで、白ビールはババリア地方王家の醸造所のみで作られていたものでしたが、ルドウィッヒ2世が売上の低迷を理由に止めてしまい、その専売権をジョージ・シュナイダー1世に売却してしまいます。以来、白ビールを作り続けますが、1927年、今の場所であるケルハイムに移り、現在に至ります。1607年にババリア地方の白ビールとして誕生して以来、シュナイダーは最も古い白ビールの醸造所として、現在も続いています。

The history of wheat beer is also the history of the Schneider brewing family and famous Schneider Weisse. Georg I Schneider, as the wheat beer pioneer and creator of the Schneider Weisse Original recipe (which is still used today), is revered by all wheat beer connoisseurs. 200 years ago, wheat beer could only be brewed by the Bavarian royal family in their breweries. In 1872, KIng Ludwig II discontinued brewing wheat beer due to a steady decline in sales. That same year, he sold Gerog I Shneider the exclusive right to brew wheat beer. Today, Gerog VI Schneider is running the brewery in Kelheim, which the family acquired in 1927 and has remained the Schneider Weisse brewery to this day. It is the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria; wheat beer has been brewed there without interruption since its founding in the year 1607.
