チェコビールとしてはめずらしい黒ビールで、チェコのギネスビールと例えられました。このケルトビールは今はスタロプラメンの傘下ですが、私が試飲した当時（2005年ごろ）はまだオリジナルのウェブサイトがありました。このケルトビール、残念ながら今はもう飲むことができません。2009年にスタロプラメンが生産中止を決定したためです。


It is stout style beer of Czech and compare to Czech Guinness. The original website was existed when I tried the beer probably in 2005. Unfortunately nobody can enjoy the beer as Staropramen has decided to stop the production any more.

Krušovice from Czech Republic

クルソヴィチェはチェコでも一番古い部類に入るビールで1517年に当時の貴族の荘園で醸造が始まったのが起源です。1581年に時の皇帝ルドルフ2世のものとなり、その後、30年戦争で難を受けましたが、クルソヴィチェビールは復活を遂げ、現在に至ります。


Krušovice is one of the oldest breweries in the Czech Republic. The brewery was established in 1517 when the Svatovsclavsks Contract enabled the aristocracy to brew beer on their own farms. After that, it was sold to Emperor Rudolf II in 1581. Even though the brewery was devastated by mercenaries during the Thirty Year War and partially burnt, the production of the beer was always quickly re-established.

味は飲みやすいとありますが、苦味はほとんどなかったと記憶します。


Although the same named beer in Belgium, it seems not to be the same brand.
Anyway, a knight on the label has not a spear but a beer glass. Comical label.

東ボヘミアのブルノ郊外イフラバの地ビールです。
イフラバビールに関する記述は14世紀にまで遡ります。
中世ですから、ビール業界もギルドを構成していたようです。
当時、イフラバビールの品質を世に知らしめるため、当時の周辺の王様や皇帝に献上したそうです。1859年に当時のギルドがイフラバに最後まで残った4つの醸造所を閉鎖し、1つに集約、新生イフラバビールとして1860年に再スタートを切りました。それがこのビール会社で、Ježekとはハリネズミの意ですが、なぜ、その名前になったのかは不明です。ホップの苦みが効いたおいしいビールと当時の私が記録しています。



The oldest mention of the malt and brewery craft in Jihlava is probably the record in the city book from the first half of the 14th century. 
Due to its quality, Jihlava beer extended to a variety of markets abroad; it was supplied, for example, to the court in Vienna, to King Ladislav Pohrobek, Emperor Friedrich III, Archduke Karl of Styria and other leading personalities of the period. 
At the beginning of 1859, the maltsters' guild in Jihlava decided that the last four of their small breweries would be closed, including domestic malt rooms, and a new common brewery would be build. The new Jihlava brewery opened on 4 April 1861.
Ježek means hedgehog but unknown why named so.

一般的にビールはアルコール度数何％と表示されますが、チェコではバリング度数が一般的に使われます。
このバリング度というのは、ビールが発酵する前の麦汁糖度の指標で、バリング度10度はだいたいアルコール度数が4％前後、17度では6～7％です。おいしいビールというのはだいたいバリング度12度以上のものを指しますので、このズラトプラメンは今一歩か？
私のコメントでも苦みがあまりなく、すーっと飲みやすいとあります。


In generally, we check alcohol % for beer but Balling degree is common in Czech Republic.
Balling degree is scale indicating density of sugars in wort, devised by C J N Balling.
Balling 10 degree is almost same with alcohol 4% and Balling 17 degree is alcohol 6-7%.

首都プラハの北東にあるニンブルクの地ビールです。
ラベルにあるおじさんはボフミル・フラベルという小説家です。実は、チェコで最も人気のある作家で、彼の人生がビールとパブに深く結び付いています。フラバルはビール醸造所（ニンブルク）の息子として育ったので、彼の作品にはビールに関する用語がよく出てくる。彼の作品「The Little Town Where Time Stood Still」はビール醸造所を舞台に、そこで働く人々の荒々しい暮らしぶりを描いています。


It is a local beer in Numburk where is located in north east from Prague. The guy on the label is Mr. Bohumil Hrabel, who is the most famous author in Czech Republic.
His life is strongly related beer and blue pub because he grew up in a brewery (Nymburk) and many of his novels echo the language of pubs and breweries. He seems to have listened in on the conversations around him, and much of the slang, colloquialisms and lewd content of those conversations appear in his dialogue. His style is lyrical and highly expressive, with characters that are often comical and foolish, but sometimes have moments of profound insight.

His Novel The Little Town Where Time Stood Still takes place in a brewery and depicts the lives of its workers and their boisterous environment.

B.B. (Budweis Bohemia) from Czech Republic

ピルゼン（Plzen）のピルスナーに対して、ボヘミア南部にはブドバイス（Budweis）という都市があり、ここで作られるビールをバドワイザーと称します。ここのビールの特徴は香ばしく、甘い麦芽香があり、飲み終わった後の程良い苦みを伴うバランスのとれたビールです。
さて、今回ご紹介するビールはB.B.で、バドワイザー・ボヘミアの略。これこそが、バドワイザービールとして世界初のビールであると主張しています。


There is Budweis city where is in the south of Bohemia. The beer which brewed in this city is called Budweiser. The character of Budweiser beer is flagrant and sweet malts aroma with bitter after taste, anyway good balanced taste.
By the way, this B.B. (Budweiser Bohemia) insists they were the first brewery in the world to sell and export beer from Budweis named “Budweiser Bier”.

ご存じの方はご存じでしょうが、チェコは1人当たりの年間ビール消費量は160Lで世界一です。チェコこそ、ピルスナービールの元祖です。この国には、約70の醸造所があります。14世紀に当時のボヘミア王であるWenceslas4世が、ビール醸造技術の国外流出を嫌って、世界最高と言われるチェコホップの輸出を禁止したほど。

今回は、ブドヴァイセ・ブドバル（チェコ語表記：Budějovický Budvar、ドイツ語表記：Budweiser Budvar）をご紹介します。どこかで聞いたことがあるような・・・。

実は、アメリカの代表的なバドワイザーも元を辿ると、この国に行きつきます。

そうです、アメリカのバドワイザーは元はチェコで、ここのマイスナーが渡米して、アメリカンドリームを掴んだのは、知る人ぞ知るお話です。

よって、元祖のURLがoriginal・・・と表記していることからも、”うちが元祖じゃ！”と主張しているようです。

Pilsner Urquell from Czech Republic

今日のビールを語る上で欠かせない言葉”ピルス（Pils）”はピルスナービールのことで、このピルスナー（Pilsner）とは、チェコの西ボヘミア地方の中心ピルゼン（Plzen）に由来しています。
ピルスナーの源泉の意であるピルスナー・ウルケルはブドバイゼ・ブドバー（アメリカのバドワイザーと関係があり、これは後に記します。）と並ぶ、チェコを誇るビールです。
それまで上面発酵が主体であったビールは19世紀半ばに様々な技術開発（発酵、貯蔵方法等）で、下面発酵に切り替わる動きが活発化、金色に輝く今のビールの形になりました。
また、ボヘミアと言えば、ボヘミアングラス。それまで、濁った色のビールを陶製のカップで飲んでいたのが主流ですが、金色を愛でるべく、グラスで飲むように変わってきました。
醸造方法の革命、上質な水、高品質なホップ、そして、ガラス工房によって、ビールを楽しむスタイルがチェコから変わってきました。


Pils stands for Pilsner Beer and originates in Plzen where is the city in West Bohemia.
Pilsner Urquell, which means Source of Pilsner, is the one of majour Czech beer same with Budweise Budwar.
Although talking of beer (strictly saying, it is ale), it was brewed by top fermentation before 19 century, bottom fermentation became popular thanks to the improved fermentation technique, yeast and brewing skill, thus talking of beer, it is crystal golden colour type beer, ie. Pilsner type beer.
Also talking of Bohemia, it is Bohemian glasses. People enjoy Pilsner beer with crystal glasses from Czech Republic.

スタロプラメン（Staropramen）とは古い泉という意。
1871年に設立、1871年に醸造開始したこのスタロプラメンは、時の皇帝フランツ・ヨーゼフ1世よりその品質を称えられ、生産は一気に伸びました。チェコでも最大級のビール会社です。

Kozel Dark from Czech Republic

チェコビールはまだ3回目ですが、どこのビールもうちが一番とウェブに書きこんでおります。
このコーゼルダークも同じく、うちのダークビールは泡までダークカラーなので、他のと一緒にしないでくれとあります。アルコール度数低めの3.8％。


The Velkopopovický Kozel dark beer is produced from special dark malts which is the reason why its foam is dark, unlike other coloured beers. It has a caramel taste with a hoppy flavour and a dark brown colour. This beer with an alcohol volume of 3,8 % is one of the best Czech dark beers and has won seven “Dark Beer of the Year” awards.

チェコのビールで私が一番好きなのは、このバーナードです。
元々の醸造所は16世紀に設立されましたが、その後倒産、スタニスラフ・バーナード氏他2名が1991年に競売で落札て現在に至ります。他のチェコのビールとの違いを示すため、最高の素材と熟練の技で、伝統的な非低温殺菌によるビール作りに取り組みました。
当時の私のコメントにもあるように、泡豊かでコクがあり、ホップの効いた非常に良いビールです。
残念ながら日本ではまだ販売されていないものです。


It is my most favorite beer of Czech Republic. The brewery history is that on October 26, 1991, Stanislav Bernard, Josef Vávra and Rudolf Šmejkal won an auction for the small privatization of the bankrupt brewery in Humpolec, established in the 16th century.

長く続いたベルギービールを今回で終わらせ、次の国に行きたいと思います。このビールはそのベルギービールの最後に残したものです。
当時の私のコメント（2002後半か2003年初期と思います）は、まったくダメだしコメントで、白ビールは最低とまで書いていました。
当時、私はビールとはホップが効いて喉ごしさわやかなものと思っており、欧州の多様なビールを知りませんでした。
よって、初めて飲んだこの白ビールの”まずさ”に半分も飲まずに捨ててしまった愚行をしました。
今は、もう、ただただ後悔するばかり。またこのビールに出会えるならば、もう一度味わってみたい。
このブルクスは伝統的な手法で醸造されたベルギーの古都ブルージュの白ビールで、なんと、そのブルージュで一番最初に醸造開始された地ビールです。

I intend to finish to describe Belgian beer and introduce the next country's ones.
Thus, I remain this beer, Brugs.
I noted my description probably in the end of 2002 or beginning of 2003 and I had not known white beer.
For me, talking beer, it is Pilsner type as just transferred from Japan.
Therefore I could not understand the taste of white beer what was worse I threw away without drinking all!!
Now, I have regret my action and if possible I would like to drink the Brugs again and enjoy the taste.
Brugs is a white beer from Bruges, Belgium, based on a traditional Brabant brew. Brugs was first brewed in Bruges .
