2013年最後の紹介はローテンブルガー　ランドウェールです。
小6の時に祖父母の旅行のかばん持ちで連れて行っていただいた初めての海外旅行で寄った街がローテンブルクですが、広場や家々の窓辺を花できれいに飾られたこの街を見て、後に私が花関係の仕事に就くことを決めた運命的な街の地ビールです。
どうでもいい話ですが・・・。

It is local brewery in Rothenbrug , Germany which also put hotel and restaurant side by side. Rothenburg is called medieval jewel box and decorated flowers in balconies here and there and open spaces in the town. I was impressed a lot when I visited there when I was 13 years old, then decided to engage in the flower industry, anyway...

Keesmann Hell from Germany

バイエルン（南ドイツ）バンベルクの地ビールで、元々お肉屋さんだったそうです。ヘルとはドイツ語で「淡い」という意味です。ピルスナータイプに似て色が淡いためで味はしっかりしています。南ドイツでビールと言えば、このヘル（またはヘレス）です。

Keesmann is a local brewery in Bamberg, which was a butcher from the first. Hell means "Pale" in English and it stands for pale colour such as Pilsner but the taste is not pale but full body. Talking of beers in south of Germany, it is Hell (Helles) style.

ヘニンガー醸造所はフランクフルトで2番目に大きな醸造所です。カイザーピルスナーとはドイツ語で皇帝のピルスナーの意。主に輸出用に造られています。

ドイツのケルン産ビール以外に命名を許されないケルシュビールですが、このラインドルフケルシュが初めてボトルビールとして販売した醸造所です。以前は、ピルスナーやデュンケル等様々なビールを造っていましたが、今はケルシュ一本に絞って生産を続けています。

Privat-Brauerei Reissdorf is the first brewery which started selling bottled Kölsch beers. It used to brew Pilsener, Dunkel and so on, but it concentrates to brew  Kölsch type only.

Gilden Kölsch from Germany

ギルデンケルシュ（ギルドたちのケルシュビール）と歴史を感じさせる名前のこのビールは1296年創業というとてつもない古い歴史を持ちます。
中世のヨーロッパではビールは領主たちの荘園内や僧院を中心に醸造されていましたが、生産力向上に連れて交易が始まるようになりました。定期的に市がたち、やがて、商人や職人が定住して都市が生まれます。やがて都市発展し、交易が欧州全体に広がります。領主の支配範囲を超える交易に同業者たちはギルドという組合を組織し、取引上の共通ルールを作ります。ビールの交易では北ドイツが中心で、ケルンはその中の一つです。この続きはまたどこかでするとして、ギルデンケルシュはそんな時代からあったビールです。

Eichbaum Export from Germany

アイヒバウムはマンハイムの醸造所です。1679年にマンハイムの議員であったJean du Chene氏（これがドイツ語でEichbaum:アイヒバウム（樫の木）の意）によって、設立されました。 
マンハイムでは、このビールのことを”死体の水”と愛称（？）します。それは、その醸造所が墓地公園の隣にあり、そこの地下水を汲み上げているからです。しかし、実際には疎水性粘土層によって不純物が取り除かれた泉水ですので、水質には全くの問題がありませんのでご心配なく。

The Eichbaum Beer brewing company is located in Manheim, Germany. It was founded in 1679 by Mr. Jean du　Chene, which means "Eichbaum" in German and means Oak Tree in English. 
In Manheim, the beer is sometimes lovingly called Corpse Water. The brewery is located next to a graveyard and the brewing water is directly pumped from the earth. However, this has no impact on the water quality because several waterproof clays protect the fountain water against impurities.

今年（2014年）で創業500周年という古い歴史を誇るゲラー醸造所は、先述のラオホビールで有名なバンベルクから南へ行ったツァイル・アム・マインという町です。ここはビールというよりはワイン醸造の方が有名な場所です。

これはケラービールと言ってドイツ系ラガービールの一種です。熟成させているセラー（ケラー）から取り出しているという意。この醸造所はバイエルン州のブッテンハイムで1624年にゲオルグ・モットシードラーによって創業され、現在も家族経営で醸造を続けるビール会社です。

The brewery locates in Buttenheim, which was established by Mr. Georg Modschiedler in 1624 and still continues as a local brewery by family management.

先述のシュレンケルラのラオホビールと比較するとマイルドな初心者向けともいえるラオホビール（燻製ビール）です。リットマイヤー醸造所は家族経営の醸造所としては最古の部類にあり、ラオホビールの聖地バンベルクから南へ行った人口4,000人足らずのハーレンドルフ村にあります。

Rittmayer Rauchbier is also smoked beer which is more mild than Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier already introduced, thus for beginners. The brewery is a private brewery which was established in 1422 located in Hallendorf where is southern of Bamberg.

ビールをこよなく愛していると、時折幸運に巡り会えます。このビールは会社の同僚が「沖縄出張時のお土産」と買ってきてくれました。
「ニヘデ」とはそこの方言で「ありがとう」の意。「ありがとうビール」です。酵母入りで、泡が豊かですので瓶内二次発酵しているタイプと思います。しっかりした味で、すばらしいビールです。

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier from Germany

ドイツはフランコニア地方の古都バンベルクは北のベニスと呼ばれる水の都でもあり、ここの特徴的なビールがラオホビールと呼ばれる燻製ビールです。大麦麦芽をブナのチップで燻したスモークモルトにして造られます。ラオホビールの代表種、エッヒト　シュレンケルラは本当に燻製の香りがする衝撃的なビールです。

Talking of Bamberg, it is an old city in Franconia district and called "Venice in the north". Also Talking of Bamberg, it is "Rauchbier", which means smoked beer, Franconian specialities. It is brewed with smoked malts, which is smoked by chips of beech trees. It is actually shocking taste and aroma.

Gaffel Kölsch from Germany

ケルシュビールはドイツのケルンだけで造られるビールに許される名称で淡い色のビールです。上面発酵タイプですので、歴史的に古いタイプに属します。現地では食前酒として扱われ、一口サイズの細口グラスで供されます。ケルンには24種のケルシュビールがあり、このガッフェルは、1302年創業で、製造の70％が樽詰めビールという高品質なケルシュビールを醸造する地ビールブランドです。

The brand name, Kölsch, is allowed to use for beers brewed in Köln only. It is top-fermentation type. Generally, Kölsch is recognized as aperitif there and served by small glass. There are 24 Kölsch beer brands and Gaffel is private brewery, whose 70% of products is for barrelling beers, established in 1302.

Dortmunder Kronen Export from Germany

ドイツビールと言えば、ラガータイプと思われますが、実際、そのラガーという言葉はドイツでは使われないようです。へレス、ドゥンケル、ピルス等がそれに該当します。ピルス（本家チェコのピルスナータイプ）の代表格が世界4大ビールのひとつとされるドルトムンダーです。ドイツのドルトムントでクローネン醸造所は個人所有の（と言っても規模はデカいですが）醸造所です。15世紀頃より北ドイツのビールは品質が良く、輸出も盛んでしたので、長期輸送に耐えられるよう麦芽エキスたっぷりに醸造されたものは、特にエキスポートと言います。ドイツではエキスポートは「プレミアム」と解釈されるようです。

Talking of German beers, many people think Lager type, but in fact, the word "Lager" is not so common in Germany. Rather, "Helles", "Dunkel" and "Pils (or Pilsener)" are common. Talking of Pils type, it is Dortmunder, which is called one of  four majour beers in the world. Kronen Privatbrauerei is a private brewery but the scale is big. Beers brewed in the north of Germany used to be exported in 15 century because of the high quality, thus the beers were called "Export". However German recognize "Export" means "Premium".

Königsbacher from Germany

1689年創業、ドイツのライン河の畔にあるコブレンツの地ビールです。1992年よりカールスバーグ
（と言ってもあのデンマークの大手Carlsbergではなくて、ドイツのKarlsbergです）に引き継がれます。ブランド名は2010年初頭にドイツのBitburger社に売られています。ともあれ、気になるその味ですが、ともかく、ホップの苦味が効いた味と記録しています。

The Königsbacher Brauerei was founded in 1689. For most of the time, Königsbacher was brewed in the "Altes Brauhaus (=old brewery)" in the center of Koblenz. Königsbacher was taken over by Karlsberg, another Koblenz brewery (not Carlsberg in Denmark) in 1992. The brand became part of the Bitburger Group in 2010.

St. Pauli Girl from Germany

これは2005年のアメリカ出張時にゲットしたものですが、ドイツのブレーメンで醸造、瓶詰されたビールです。その名の由来は1857年に設立されたブレーメンの元聖ポール修道院の隣にあった地ビール醸造所によります。その特徴的なドイツの民族衣装の女性のラベルはアメリカで瓶ビールが流通し始めた19世紀からで、代々女性の絵柄が変わっており、それも話題のビールです。

St. Pauli Girl Beers are brewed and bottled by the St. Pauli Brauerei, which is located within the Beck's Brewery in Bremen, Germany.
The brand derives its name from the fact that the original brewery, established in 1857, was located next to the former St. Paul's Monastery in Bremen.
The distinctive label depicting a woman wearing traditional outfits was introduced in the 19th century with the advent of the bottled beers. The local artist commissioned for the label drew his inspiration from the waitresses at the time.

オランダ国境に近いスタインフルトの地ビールです。1980年に大手クロムバッハの傘下に入りましたが、オリジナルのブランドネームでその後も地ビール醸造所としてビールづくりを続けています。

Alexander Rolinck founded the traditionally operating brewery Rolinck in 1820. The company has been operating as a private brewery under the name A. Rlinck GmbH & Co.KG since 1980 ans is part of Krombacher Group.

Herrnbräu from Germany

ドイツ南部バイエルン地方のインゴルシュタットの地ビールです。インゴルシュタットは1516年に当時のウィルヘルム4世がビール純粋令（麦芽、水、ホップ、酵母のみで造ること）を公布した街でもあります。ドイツのビールは今もこの法律に基づいて最高品質のビールが造られています。
ところで当時の私のコメントですが、いま読み返してみると実に当たり前のことを書いています。例えば、Hefe Weißbierは酵母が濾過されていない状態の白ビールですが、濁って、黄色味がかった白いビールで酸味がある云々と書いています。我ながら笑ってしまいます。

Berliner Kindl Pilsener from Germany

ベルリンを代表するビールブランドです。第二次大戦後、当時ソ連軍に銅製の仕込み釜を没収されたため、プラントを再建することとなりましたが、彼らはこだわりを持って旧式の醸造所様式に再建、今もそれを使用してビールを造っています。

The Berliner Kindl Brewery had to rebuild its plant after WW II as its copper vessels had been confiscated by the Russian army. To its credit, Kindl designed its new brewery house in Classic Brauhaus style and still uses copper.

Potsdamer Rex Pils from Germany

旧東ドイツのベルリン郊外のポツダムは日本人にとってポツダム宣言で印象深い場所ですが、ここにも地ビールがあります。1716年に当時神聖ローマ帝国のフリードリヒ1世によって王室ビール醸造所が設立されたのが起源。ラベルの男性もフリードリヒ1世です。ホップの苦味が利いたピルスナーです。

It is a local beer in Potsdam which was established as royal brewery by Friedrich I. The man on the label is Friedrich I.

ノイツェレは旧東ドイツブランデンブルグ州にあるポーランド国境に接する街です。これはそこの地ビールですが、日本語で書くと修道僧ビール。設立年も16世紀ですので「いかにも」と思わせるビールです。当時の私のコメントはなんとも説明のしようがない特殊な味だが香りよく飲みやすいとあります。今飲んだらもっとうんちく書きそうですが、製造中止で今となってはもう入手不可能です。

Neuzelle locates border to Poland in former East Germany. Mönchs Pils means Monks Beer in English. I could not described well when I tried it but if I can try now I would describe more detail. The brand is retired and no longer brewed, unfortunately...

第2回日本ビール検定

今日（10/6）は第2回日本ビール検定試験日でした。前回おかげさまで2級合格したので1級受験権利があり、受けてきました（東京会場は学習院大学でした）。
マークシートの他、記述問題、論述問題もあり、明日（10/7）に解答がweb上に公開されるので、おおよその点数は把握できますが、結果発表は12/上です。
しばらく、悶々としそうです。
