自分のコメントに最初、甘みと酸味があって、その後に苦みが来ると記録していますが、やっぱりね。このビール、醸造過程でキャンディー入れてます。

Dulle Teve means Mad Bitch, but the US government does not like the name, therefore it is called Tripel. It is an all malt brew with white candy in the kettle and re-fermented.

Oer Bier and Oeral Bier from Belgium

歴史あるベルギービール群の中で、これは新しい醸造所（1980年設立）のビールです。”ふざけたデザイン”とも”コミカルなデザイン”とも表現できるそのラベルからは想像できないくらい、味の方はしっかりしていました。
このOerbierとはオリジナルという意で、当時学生だった兄弟が5ガロン（＝約19L）の銅製のケトルで醸造したのが始まりです。その後、古い醸造所を引き継ぎ、かたくなに小規模生産にこだわっている地ビール醸造所です。この醸造所のこだわりは品質管理にもみられ、8℃に一定に管理されたセラーで管理されています。

Oerbier means Original from the source. It has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons) at home in a copper wash kettle by brothers who were students at the time. They took over an old brewery which was out of business. It was also a unique opportunity to create some interesting brews and they kept the scale of the brewery as it was.

Oerbier is brewed from all different malts, Poperinge Golden hops in flowers and special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery they have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8C allowing Oerbier to age at its best.

聖ベネディクト（480-547）は、ベネディクト修道院秩序の創始者で、この秩序は修道院内で労働作業、知的作業の元となっていました。数世紀を経て、ベネディクト修道院の修道僧たちは小麦、ホップ、大麦でリッチで濃厚なビール醸造に勤しみました。このビールはBOCQ醸造所が当時の修道院ビールを再現するために作り上げたものです。

Saint Benedict (Saint-Benoit) (480-547) is the founder of the Benedictine order. This order has always maintained a commitment to manual and intellectual work within the monasteries. Over the centuries, the Benedictine Monks took advantage of the wheat, hops and barley harvests to brew rich and dense beers within their farms. The Brasserie du BOCQ drew its inspiration from them to create an abbey beer in memory of Saint Benedict.

Duchesse de Bourgogne from Belgium

フランダースのレッドビールです。発酵後、オーク樽で18カ月もの間熟成させ、そして8カ月熟成の物とブレンドしたビールです。よって、コメントにあるように、黒っぽいビールで、フルーティーな香りのするビールに仕上がります。
このビール名は1457に生まれ、落馬事故で亡くなったチャールズの唯一の娘を称えて、ブルゴーニュのメアリーと付けられました。

It is a Flanders Red Ale style beer. After primary and secondary fermentation, this ale is matured in oak barrels for 18 months. The final product is a blend of younger 8 months old beer with an 18 months old beer. The name of the beer is meant to honour Mary of Burgundy, the sole daughter of Charles the Bold, born in Brussels in 1457, who died young in a horse riding accident.

このヘット・カピテルは、フランスとの国境向こうに位置するモン・デ・カ修道院によって供給されたレシピが基本となっていると言われています。

It was established as brewery of local lord in 1642 then it has been owned by van Eecke family since 1840's. The brewery locates in Watou where is near the border to France. The recipe is based on the one of abbaye du Mont des Cats.

府中にあるサントリービール武蔵野工場に行きました。
ザ・プレミアム・モルツの誕生秘話、相性のよいおつまみ、おいしい注ぎ方、業務用主体で、缶では限定販売のザ・プレミアム・モルツ＜黒＞も堪能できました。
なんと、ザ・プレミアム・モルツの誕生は1989年との事。世界一のビールを目指して研究開発され、モンドセレクションで3年連続受賞という快挙。
相性のよいおつまみでは、5種類出されましたが、ドライフルーツとの相性は新たな発見。
ザ・プレミアム・モルツ＜黒＞は以前限定販売の350ml缶をゲット、試したことがありますが、やはり工場での鮮度にはかないません。香りが違います。
工場見学の説明もわかりやすく、なかなかいい内容のコースでした。

I went to Suntory Brewery in Fuchu, Tokyo on 4th Dec. 2010.
The content of tour was a presentation of The Premium Malt's development story, how to serve beer, tasting of The Premium Malt's and The Premium Malt's Black etc.

The Premium Malt's Black

I did not know the beer was launched in 1989 and developed in order to be No.1 Pils Beer in the world. Eventually it was awarded The Grand Prix of Monde Selection in 2005, 2006 and 2007!
5 kinds of snack were served as "beer friend" and it was new for me that dried fruit is good combination to beer.
Although I've tried The Premium Malt's Black as canned beer once, the beer at facility was actually nice because of freshness and the flavour.
It was actually good tour.

マースはアントワープに近いワールローを拠点とする醸造所でした。とあるドイツ醸造所の助けもあり、1880年設立。ブリティッシュワトニーグループの傘下でなんとか経営してきましたが、新しいスコッチアンドニューキャッスルの傘下では、さほどいい扱いを受けなかったようです。よって、ワールローの醸造所は2003年に閉鎖、マースのブランドはアルケン社に移ります。
もし、マース社がそのまま存在していたら、チェコのモルトとサーツのホップを効かせた2～3か月熟成させたラガービールだったでしょうが、スコッティシュアンドニューキャッスルのマーケティングポリシーはそのような浪費は認めなかったでしょう。よって、私の試飲のコメント通りの味になっています。

Maes is based in Waarloos, near Antwerp. Maes Pils first appeared in 1880 with some help from German brewery. The company somehow survived a period of ownership by British Watneys Group, but it has fared less well under new owners Scottish & New Castle (S&N). Waarloos was due to close in 2003 and its brands to be moved to Alken. Maes Pils, if it survives, it's lagered for 2-3 months with brewed by Czach malts and Saats hops, but the S&N marketing men will no doubt frown on such extravagance.

これは、ベルギーでもおなじみのビールで、あちこちに白い手の看板を見ることができます。当時の私は味が薄いとコメントしていますが、それゆえに飲みやすく、メジャーなのではないでしょうか？歴代のオーナーは周辺の”提案”に聞き入れることなく、かたくなにエールを貫き通し、醸造過程に砂糖（発酵促進）を使用することなく、麦芽100％のビールにこだわっています。

De Koninck means "The King". The brewery began life in 1833 as a brewer pub and its owners have resisted any suggestion that they should move from ale to lager. No sugars are used in brewing process.

Duvel from Belgium

Duvelとはフランダース語で悪魔を意味し、ぞっとする名前のビールですが、既にご紹介したMort Subite（突然死）のように、奇抜な名前のビールがベルギービールの特徴の一つです。
記録には白ビールとありますが、ストロングゴールデンエールの部類です。私がトライしたのはごく初期の頃で、まだビールの世界をよく知らない時のコメントです。

Duvel means "Devil" in Flemish. The name is said to have been inspired by a brewery workers who tasted it when it was first brewed and declared. "This is a Devil of a good beer". The name is less menacing than the Gueuze Mort Subite which means "Sudden Death".
Although I noted it is a kind of white beer, it seems to belong to Strong Golden Ale.

コルセンドンクはベルギー修道院ビールの一種で、1398年に始まり、1784年に閉じられました。1982年に、このコルセンドンクブランドは再び大手ベルギービール会社で復活されました。白ビール系で、レモンのさわやかさとありますが、当時の私は底まで見抜けなかったようです。記録を見ると"not so bad"と記述しており、まだ白ビールの良さを分かっていなかったと思われます。

トラピストビールとは、修道院で醸造されているビールを指し、世界で7か所のみです。それ以外の修道院ビール（実際は、そのレシピに基づいて、ビール会社が醸造しているもの）はアビイビールと表現されます。
さて、このビールはどちらでしょうか？トラピストビールの一つにウェストフレテレン（シント・スクスティス修道院）がありますが、この修道院は商売っ気がほとんどなく、訪問者にしか販売しませんし、ビール醸造も不定期です。一方、近くのセント・ベルナンデュス醸造所と委託契約をし、ライセンス生産されたのが、このビールです。

Talking of Trappist, there are 7 only breweries in the world. The beer where is brewed in monastery can be described as Trappist beer. The rest of "Trappist" type beer should be described as Abbey Beer. By the way, is the beer, St. Bernardus, can be described Trappist beer? The answer is No, because the beer is brewed by commissioning from St. Sixtus, the brand name is Westvleteren.

ステラ　アルトワ（http://beer-a-holic.blogspot.com/2010/07/stella-artois-from-belgium.html）と同じく、ベルギーを代表するピルスナービールが、このジュピラーです。この2大ビールは1980年代に合併し、今では巨大醸造会社インターブリューの傘下です。ピートボーフ家が1853年に設立したジュピラーは、ステラ　アルトワにあるようなホップの効きを控えめに、ソフトで飲みやすい味にしたことで、ピルスナービールとしてはベルギー1の消費量になりました。

Jupiler and Stella Artois come from the giant Interbrew group, the result of a 1980's merger between Stella Artois of Leuven and Piedboeuf of Jupille-sur-Meuse near Liege. Jupiler is the biggest-selling Pilsner in Belgium. The Piedboeuf family founded its brewery in 1853 in Jupille. Jupiler's rise to popularity is impressive as it was launched as recently as 1966. It is an easy-drinking, soft, malt-accented beer lacking the hop character of Stella.

日本でも非常に有名な修道院ビールです。
水が飲用に適さなかった中世では、旅人と言えば、巡礼者、宿屋と言えば修道院という時代、修道士たちは巡礼者の食事のためにビールを醸造しました。このように宗教改革が行われるまで、ビールは修道院でたくさん作られていました。
このオルバル修道院の歴史は1070年まで遡ります。その独特な色と風味は当時の私は何かハーブが入っているような薬草の様な香りと記録しています。
オルバルとは”黄金の谷”という意で、イタリアのトスカーナからきた王女と黄金の指環の民話（王女が谷にある湖に指環を落とし、もし見つかったら、修道院を立てることを誓い、鱒がそれを口に加えて現れた）が由来です。ラベルのロゴもそれに由来します。

Trappists used to brew beers for pilgrims in The Middle Ages because water was not suitable for drink use and talking of travelers, it was pilgrims and talking of inn, it is monasteries at that time. Beers had been brewed at monasteries until Reformation period in Europe.
The history of Orval is stared in 1070 A.D! Orval produces just one Trappist beer of awesome complexity and depth of flavours.
The name of Orval is from "D'Or Val" (The Golden Valley), according to legend, a Tuscan Princess lost her ring in a lake in the valley and vowed to build an monastery there if the ring were returned to her. A trout broke the surface of the water with the ring in its mouth. The image is now the logo of the brewery.
